Project Land Jewelry

LandJewelry is a project that originally took place by the shore of Öland, Sweden during the last days of August 2021. Eight artists with a background in jewelry, coming from four different countries of the Baltic region, met on the island to create land art – or, as we call it: Land Jewelry. Since roughly 2020 I have been doing land art with a focus on minimal impact on the environment and on “letting go” – making pieces from materials found on location and/or biodegradable materials, meant to fall apart relatively quickly. Usually I do these in the summer months and then try to later return to them to hopefully document their decay. Some of them are connected to bigger projects, some of them are just sketches, my way of doing “street art” in nature (of course always respecting Finnish Everyone’s Rights).
